Growing up in our family's atelier in Hanoi, I was drawn to tailoring from childhood. While other kids played outside, I found my sanctuary watching my parents work—organizing buttons at five, learning stitches at eight, spotting imperfect construction by twelve.
What fascinated me wasn't just the technical skill. It was watching customers transform when they first tried on their completed garments. The way they stood taller, smiled wider, carried themselves differently. That moment of transformation became my passion.
Our family carried something unique: eight generations of knowledge combining French structural precision with Vietnamese understanding of natural movement. This wasn't just tailoring—it was a philosophy that exceptional craftsmanship serves the person, not just the pattern.
The American Journey
In 2008, I came to America for college, carrying more than textbooks. Hidden in my suitcase were fabric samples, measuring tools, and the accumulated wisdom of 130 years of family craftsmanship. I had one question: Could I recreate that transformative magic here?
It started with a dorm-mate's ill-fitting suit jacket. "I can fix that," I offered. Three days later, he picked up a jacket that actually fit. Within a week, three friends were asking for help. What began as simple alterations evolved into complete custom suits as word spread through campus and beyond.
